Daniel Venema is a 27 year old amateur photographer living in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. He loves Jesus, his wife Leesa, beer, music, snowboarding, and the challenge that is capturing the beauty of creation with photography. He studied civil engineering at James Cook University but currently works in eCommerce.
Daniel grew up with a love for animals and would often spend time birding with his father on their family camping trips. In 2006, at Alice Springs Desert Park in central Australia, he pointed a cheap camera at a few captive birds and quickly became hooked on bird photography. Weeks later he had his hands on his first superzoom digital camera, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ7, and since then he has grown to love this hobby more and more.
Daniel's equipment currently includes the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV, Canon EF 500mm f/4L IS II USM and Canon EF Extender 1.4x III, however some of the images on this website have been taken with previous equipment like the Canon 7D Mark II, Canon EOS 550D, Canon EF 400mm f/5.6L USM and Canon PowerShot SX50 HS.
